What happens when one reflects upon the past and ponders the present dynamics? In my case, it means going to grad school! After a lengthy and fruitful career as an occupational therapist (OT), I'm expanding my horizons to become a teacher. This is not much of a leap, as much of what an OT does is education based. The more I learn about teaching in 2023, the more similarities I discover between the two fields. Educators no longer stand and lecture, they, too, use activities to enhance the learning environment and to promote carry-over of learning. They strive to develop critical thinkers who can function with greater independence in the complex world.
